Working with Me

People often ask why I decided to become a therapist. The answer is simple: I care about people. I am moved by your experiences and feel honored to help you navigate the complexities of life.

I’m not an old-school therapist who sits in silence, nodding knowingly from time to time. You won’t feel analyzed or judged. I'm expressive, curious and not easily ruffled. My style is engaged and collaborative: I listen and reflect, ask questions, and introduce skills you can use in your daily life. I value your individuality. Your goals are the priority of our work together.

My practice is informed by current research and training in relational, behavioral, attachment and somatic therapies. I incorporate mindfulness and neurobiological principles. This integrative approach allows me to better understand the many dimensions of who you are and how I can be most effective as your therapist.

      Background

I have an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute, an M.A. in Media Studies from The New School and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from U.C. Berkeley.

In addition to private practice work, I facilitate support groups for women with cancer at the Women’s Cancer Resource Center. I have counseled individual adults, couples and families at a family services agency, students in a high school setting and severely mentally ill adults in a social rehabilitation program.

I am committed to personal development, strengthening my skills and staying current. I participate in advanced trainings, workshops and consultations so that I can provide you with the best, most effective treatment.
